Conduct research studies that lead to the generation of information, knowledge, and/or initiatives aimed at improving the global competitiveness of South Africa’s industries.
Currently the research function is limited and conducted through the Fund for Research into Industrial Development, Growth and Equity (Fridge). The plan of the Council is to bolster the institution’s research capabilities in the near future in order to generate knowledge and information that will assist and guide the formulation and implementation of social and economic policy.
